
PROJECT PURPOSE
The project contributes to improving services offered to young people from disadvantaged groups (young people in the rural areas and in the child protection system) in the counties of Bacau, Sibiu and Bucharest-Ilfov region in order to increase their prospects for social and professional integration.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
⦁ Improve life skills and prospects for integration into the labor market for 225 young people beneficiaries of the project
⦁ Increase the capacity of relevant actors involved service provision for youth at the local and county level
⦁ Creation of networks at the local and county level to better meet the needs of young people using methodologies developed as part of the project
EXPECTED RESULTS
⦁ 225 young people improve their life skills and chances for integration into the labor market;
⦁ the needs of young people included in the project will be addressed through three types of integrated measures: access to informal education, including leisure time, support for accessing the labor market and social inclusion;
⦁ at least 40 parents will attend the group meetings on topics regarding the importance of education and holding a job;
⦁ at least 42 specialists/professionals will acquire specific knowledge and skills in working with young people;
⦁ 10% of young people included in the project will be integrated into the labor market by the end of the project;
⦁ 90% of young people enrolled in the education system will improve attendance and school performance;
⦁ 90% of young people included in the project will be satisfied with the services provided;
⦁ one study elaborated to identify the needs of young people in the rural areas and child protection system in the counties of Bacau and Sibiu and Bucharest-Ilfov region and to better substantiate the measures developed under the project;
⦁ SOS Children’s Villages Romania will become an accredited provider for career counseling services;
⦁ 22 experts from SOS Children’s Villages Romania, the GDSACPs in targeted counties and the local authorities will be certified as vocational counselors;
⦁ 2 working methodologies developed in the project for young people from disadvantaged groups;
⦁ 9 signed partnerships with GDASCPs (at least 4) and the local authorities (at least 5);
⦁ SOS Children’s Villages Romania and its partners will improve the ability to manage youth-related issues;
⦁ the methodologies developed as part of the project will be well received by professionals with responsibilities in this area and will integrated into their current activities;

⦁ Elaboration of a study on the needs of young people from rural areas and the child protection system in Sibiu and Bacau counties and in the Bucharest-Ilfov region
⦁ Accreditation of SOS Children’s Villages Romania as a provider for career counseling services
⦁ Selection of project beneficiaries and signing partnerships agreement with GDSACPs and local authorities
⦁ Actions targeting professionals
⦁ Elaboration of work plans for each location
⦁ Providing integrated services for young people based on individualized intervention plans and work plans for each location
⦁ Development of working methodologies targeting young people from disadvantaged groups- young people in rural areas and youth in the child protection system
⦁ Promotion and communicating activities
BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Romania in partnership with NGO Federation for Children – FONPC puts forward a model of integrated services for 225 young people from disadvantaged groups in rural areas and the child protection system in the counties of Sibiu, Bacau, Bucharest and Ilfov. Specifically, the services are provided based on individualized plans and local work plans. Complementarily, the project seeks to create partnerships at local and county level, by mobilizing existing resources in the public institutions, communities and young people and address the local needs.
The project financed with financial support of RO11 Programme – CORAI, programme financed by the EEA Grants 2009-2014 and managed by Romanian Social Development Fund.
